O R D E R
In pursuance of Govt. of Mizoram, Home Department’s notification No.A.11030/2/2013-HMP Dated 30.12.2020, Citizens’ Committees for Accountability of Police to the Public at the District, Police Sub-Division and Police Station level in respect of Khawzawl District are hereby constituted comprising of the following members :
District Level :
Chairman : Deputy Commissioner, Khawzawl District
Member Secretary : Superintendent of Police, Khawzawl District.
Members :
- Chairman, Joint Village Council, Khawzawl
- President, Khawzawl Sub-Headquarters, YMA.
- President, MHIP, Sub-Headquarters Khawzawl.
- President, District MUP, Khawzawl.
- Pu B. Lalzethanga, retired teacher.
Police Sub-Divisional Level :
Chairman : BDO, Khawzawl
Member Secretary : SDPO, Khawzawl.
Members :
- All Presidents Village Council/Court within Khawzawl Distirct.
- Pu J. Lalzela, retired Government Servant.
Police Station Level :
Chairman : Pu K. Lalzika, Prominent citizen.
Member Secretary : O/C, Khawzawl PS.
Members :
- O/C, Traffic.
- Pu Lalnunpuia, VCP Khawzawl Darngawn.
- Pu Zarzokima, President, Khawzawl Dinthar Branch YMA.
- Pu C. Zatluanga, retired Govt. servant.
- Pu K. Ziona, Associate Professor, Govt. Khawzawl College.
TERMS OF REFERENCE
- The Citizens’ Committee for Accountability of Police to the Public shall be convened regularly by the Chairman at each level.
2.The Citizens’ Committee for Accountability of Police to the public shall make efforts to make the citizens within its District/Police Sub-Division/Police Station aware of their rights in their dealings with Police.
3.The Citizens’ Committee for Accountability of Police to the public shall liaise with the citizens within its District/Police Sub-Division/Police Station to ensure that the dealings of the Police with its citizens are in a fair, transparent and accountable manner.
4.The Citizens’ Committee for Accountability of Police to the Public shall review the actions for the Police within its District/Police Sub-Division/Police Station and make recommendations as and when required.
5.The Citizens’ Committee for Accountability of Police to the public shall take proactive steps to ensure that adverse/controversial actions of the Police against the public are avoided.
6.The Citizens’ Committee for Accountability of Police to the public shall make recommendations to the State Government in regard to maintaining Police accountability as and when required.
7.Minutes of the Meeting of the Citizens’ Committee for Accountability of Police to the public shall be endorsed to the State Government with a copy to the Director General of Police.
